Project Summary:
Little is known on the mechanism by which exposure to crystalline silica increases susceptibility to Mycobacterium tuberculosis. To address the need for more research to elucidate this mechanism, this study will evaluate the effect of in vitro exposure to crystalline silica and M. tuberculosis H37Rv on U937 Human macrophage cell line and γδ+ T-lymphocyte cells.
